actually 2 major types of affiliate marketing program in which any other type fall under:
Pay-Per-Click (PPC), Pay-Per-Performance (PPP) and Pay-Per-Lead (PPL).
Pay Per Click
In this type of affiliate program, affiliates are paid when a visitor clicks on the merchant's banner to
visit the merchant site.


Pay Per Performance
Merchants prefer this type of affiliate marketing and for the affiliates this is the most lucrative
program. Payment is based on referral translating into action.


Other affiliate marketing types include single-tier, double-tier, multiple-tier and residual income affiliate
marketing.
